A visual system records decisions that make production and approval easier. It is not a technical guarantee against product drift. Define what must stay consistent, where variation is allowed and what requires rejection.

Use approved references

Collect original images of the correct variant from relevant angles, colours, logo, typography and brief lighting guidance. Explain why examples are approved rather than relying on abstract brand adjectives.

Include rejected examples showing unclear labels, wrong colours or misleading materials, with precise notes. This helps new producers identify issues that product experts already recognise.

AI Vidia's fictional-product demo shows what those notes look like in practice, with every rejected ad image and the reason it failed. The product, a face serum called HAVREL Daily Drop, does not exist, and neither does the brand. Its 4 reference images were AI-generated, and every verdict came from an AI review pass. On a client job, a creative director at AI Vidia checks every file before it reaches you.

Maintain an operational system

Version the system and name an owner. Packaging changes should identify replaced references and affected ads. An obsolete image should not remain labelled approved.

Protect identity and product facts while allowing different questions, scenes and narratives. Test the system on a new brief and improve it using the questions producers still need to ask.

Make product rules usable without guessing

Replace abstract brand fidelity with concrete bottle, lid and label requirements plus an annotated reference.

Show permitted variation in settings, lighting and text placement. A few clear examples can outperform long prohibition lists.

Trial another variant to separate brand-wide rules from product-specific details. Do not transfer one variant’s lid or colour to the catalogue.

Record actual rejected examples and change the workflow for recurring errors. Original product imagery in a generated scene may be more reliable than adding instructions.

Keep approved and rejected examples together with specific explanations. An attractive image may still have the wrong label, material or variant. Showing that error helps a new producer understand a product expert’s objection without relying on vague language about brand feel.

Version the reference system when packaging or assortment changes. Identify replaced images and the existing ads that need review. A folder named approved is unsafe if obsolete references remain indistinguishable from current ones. At the same time, avoid making every ad identical. Stable product facts can coexist with different customer questions and narratives. Improve the system using the questions that a new brief still leaves unresolved.

Frequently asked questions

01Can a style guide prevent all AI errors?
No. It clarifies requirements, but finished images and videos still need product verification.
02What matters most in the reference kit?
Accurate product references, required visual rules, approved examples and specific rejection examples with ownership and version date.
