Why answer separately
Briefs feel clear to the people who write them. In the BetterBriefs Project (over 1,700 marketers and agency staff, 2021), 80% of marketers said they write good briefs; 10% of agencies agreed.
Inside a brand the same gap opens between the founder, growth and brand. Answering separately stops the first answer from setting everyone else's, so the differences show before they cost a production round.
Worked example: three leads, one pet-food brief
Hypothetical answers. Each of them thought the brief was obvious.

Different answers- Founder
- Win a first order
- Growth or marketing
- Win a repeat order
- Brand or creative

Only growth or marketing answered differently.
Why it mattersDifferent decisions need different ads: a first order needs proof and a clear offer, a repeat order needs routine and value.

Which buying question should the ads answer first?
Different answers- Founder
- Is it for me?
- Growth or marketing
- How does it fit my day?
- Brand or creative
- What is in it?
Why it mattersIf each person expects a different question, the ads answer none of them well.

- 03
What must the ads show as evidence?
Different answers- Founder
- The product working, on real footage

What must not change in the ads?
Different answersSettle before production- Founder

What the test does not do
- Agreement shows you are aligned, not that the plan is right. Test the plan with real ads.
- It does not read your brief or your accounts; you answer fixed choices only.
- Answers in the link are hidden on screen, not encrypted. Share it with your team only.
Questions about aligning a creative brief
Why do founders and growth leads disagree on a brief?
They answer to different numbers. A founder often thinks about the brand and the first sale, growth about repeat orders and cost per order, brand about how the product is shown. Each version is reasonable, which is why nobody notices the gap until the ads arrive.
What should a team agree before commissioning ads?
Six things: the customer decision the ads should change, the buying question to answer first, the evidence the ads must show, what must not change, who signs off, and what counts as delivered.
Can we use it with a remote team?
Yes. Answer, copy the link and send it to the next person. They answer first, then see everyone's answers. Up to five people can join one test, and nothing is stored on a server.
Is this a score of our strategy?
No. It only shows where your answers match. A team can agree on a weak plan; test the plan with real ads and real results.
